Dumbass Comment of the Day

You have to marvel at the guts of some people to use a tragedy to further their own cause. And to add such bizarre spins to news stories that you cannot help but be amazed by their brilliance or sheer disregard for that little thing called reality.

Relatives of Virginia Tech massacre victims plead for state gun law change

I take particular delight in the quote by Jeff Knox, director of operations of the Firearms Coalition when he approach survivor Colin Goddard.

“I would have stopped him,” Knox said. “Because when I went to school, I carried a gun. It was legal; I did it.”

To actually approach a survivor of the horror and having the gall to spew such crap while seemingly blaming him for not being able to protect the rest of his friends because he was not bearing arms. By the way Goddard, had ONLY been shot four times during the incident.

And I thought I could only find entertainment like this on my favorite TV shows. I half expected him to follow up that line with

“Denny Crane”

More often we see those who would bar all personal arms (Brady Campaign, Pelosi, Schumer, etc) dancing in the blood of innocents; as they scream for more restrictions before the dead have been put to rest.

Knox rightly points out that one can call 911 and die, or if prepared, take the opportunity to drop the perp.

I’d rather be in the company of competent, prepared citizens than depend on the depraved to honor a ‘no protection zone’.

    Good luck

Isn’t it sad now that we are always looking over our shoulders for enemies that might or might not be there.

And sadder still that we’ve forgotten about a time that we do not have to do this?

Using restrictions on personal arms as a means of politiking might be, as you say, downright despicable. But isn’t it a million times better than people like Knox who are doing the same thing for dollars and cents?

I’m not so naive as to believe that restricting personal arms will put an end to violence. But it’ll make it more difficult for those that have malicious intent. I’ll rather that when these idiots come around, they’ll either have to do shitloads of work to amass serious firepower or come at me with a knife they’ve fashioned outta a teaspoon.

    Cheers

The two sat there unhurriedly like that for a cavalier minute.
