Clones are People Two!
We all think we are unique.
We all think we have something to say that have never been said before.
We all want the world to read what we have to say.
We go through our lives looking for the Big Idea. The one that will make us rich and famous beyond our wildest dreams (and we can have the same wildest dreams).
We hate McDonalds. We hate CNN. We hate Microsoft.
Because they are Big Corporations that represents All That Is Wrong With The World.
Sitting in a McCafe, looking through the CNN Website on our Windows Driven Laptop, we bemoan the lost of individuality while fiddling with our IPOD (our middle finger to The Man).
Wondering why the world cannot accept us for who we are. Wondering how we can separate ourselves from the sheep.
We look for the most obscure music/movies/tv shows so that we can say we are cult. We look for impoverished and (hopefully) very oppressed nations that nobody has heard of so we can have a new and trendy Cause to Champion. We trot around the world to Places that You’ve Never Even Dream Of just to say “I’ve been THERE”, and with a snotty backward glance, we ask the flock “Why haven’t you?”
We all want to save the world. Deep inside all of us. In our heart of hearts… All the better if we can get rich and famous along the way. We want to be Rock Stars with Heart; Film Makers that Challenge Authority; Biologists that End all Diseases; Engineers of the 101th Wonder of the World; Lawyers that Don’t Lie. We want to be Heroes.
To all that, I say “Fuck it!”
We’re all zombies. Individuality rolled over and died a long long time ago.
So what if read the same propaganda? Laugh at the same jokes? Talk about the same topics? Dance to the same music? Let’s just acknowledge our sameness while we go about doing what we must do to justify to ourselves that we are different?
Clones are people two.
